Crispy Paneer Sticks with Peanut Sauce

This is a tasty appetizer that goes well with beer or white wine. Serves 4. Try it out with your homemade Paneer!

Crispy Paneer Sticks with Peanut Sauce
Ingredients:
- 250 g/ 1/2 lb of paneer cut into strips
- ¾ cup of white flour
- 1 tsp of freshly grated ginger
- 1 pressed garlic
- ½ tsp of yellow curry powder
- 1 tbsp of chopped cilantro, fresh or dried
- ½ tsp of baking soda
- ½ tsp of cayenne pepper (or to your taste)
- Salt to taste
- Frying oil of your choice
- ¾ cup cold water
Procedure:
- Mix all the dry ingredients, then add the water to make a batter.
- Heat the oil in a frying pan. Dip the paneer strips into the batter, covering the cheese strips generously. Fry until golden brown. Place on a paper towel to dry.


Peanut Butter dipping sauce:
- 1 tbsp of sesame oil
- 1 tbsp of canola, sunflower or grapeseed oil
- 1 tbsp of soy sauce
- 2 tbsp of sweet chili sauce (I use the Thai Sweet Chili)
- 3 tbsp of smooth peanut butter
- 2 tbsp of lime juice
Mix well with a whisk, place in a small bowl, and serve with the paneer sticks. Add vegetables of your choice for dipping.
